Summary

Tally Hoops is designed to keep your data on your devices. Your sessions, shots, goals, achievements, and videos are stored locally and synced through your private iCloud account. We don't run servers that hold your data. We don't use third-party analytics. We don't sell anything to anyone.

What the app stores

  • Sessions and shot data — stored on your device and in your iCloud (CloudKit).
  • Videos — stored on your device; optionally backed up to iCloud or shared to YouTube.
  • Goals, achievements, records — same as session data: device + your iCloud.

HealthKit

With your permission, Tally Hoops records shooting sessions as workouts in Apple Health and reads your heart rate during sessions to give you better in-session feedback. HealthKit data never leaves your device or your iCloud. You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy → Health → Tally Hoops.

Camera and microphone

With your permission, Tally Hoops uses the camera and microphone to record your shooting sessions as video with your stats overlaid. That footage is stored on your device and in your iCloud, and is shared only if you choose to (for example, a YouTube upload — see below). Some on-device features also use Apple's Speech and ARKit frameworks; that processing happens on your device. You can revoke camera or microphone access any time in Settings → Privacy → Camera / Microphone → Tally Hoops.

Photos

With your permission, Tally Hoops saves your Video Mode sessions to your photo library, replays saved sessions from it, and lets you choose photos of the courts where you play. Your photos stay on your device and in your iCloud — they are never sent to us. You can revoke access any time in Settings → Privacy → Photos → Tally Hoops.

Location

With your permission, Tally Hoops checks your location once per session to label where you played, so it can group your sessions by court. Your location data stays on your device and in your iCloud — it is never sent to us. You can revoke access any time in Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Tally Hoops.

Motion & fitness

With your permission, Tally Hoops uses motion data to count your steps during a session. This stays on your device.

Music

If you grant access, Tally Hoops reads what you're listening to during a session so it can show you which songs you shoot best to. This media information stays on your device and in your iCloud; we don't use your Apple Music access for anything else. You can revoke it any time in Settings → Privacy → Media & Apple Music → Tally Hoops.

Google Sign-In (YouTube uploads only)

If you choose to upload a session video to YouTube, Tally Hoops uses Google Sign-In to authenticate you and upload the video using the youtube.upload scope. We do not store your Google credentials. The OAuth token lives on your device and is used only for uploads you initiate. You can revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Notifications

With your permission, Tally Hoops sends you reminders — streaks, goals, scheduled training-plan sessions, and a weekly digest. These are scheduled on your device; we don't use notifications for marketing.

Purchases

Premium features are sold through Apple under your Apple ID. We use RevenueCat to verify your entitlement status. We never see or store your payment information.

Analytics and tracking

Tally Hoops contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no ad networks, and no tracking pixels. We don't know who you are or how you use the app — and we like it that way. Tally Hoops does keep a few anonymous, on-device usage counters to help us improve the app; these never leave your device.

Children's privacy

Tally Hoops is suitable for all ages. Because we don't collect personal information from anyone, no special handling is required for children.

Data requests and deletion

Because your data lives in your iCloud rather than on our servers, you delete it by deleting it from the app (Settings → Data → Delete All Data) or from your iCloud account directly. We have no copy to hand over or delete on your behalf. For any other questions, email privacy@mawapa.app.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and (for material changes) note it in the in-app changelog.
