This policy applies to LifeTally. Tally Hoops has its own privacy policy.

Summary

LifeTally is designed to keep your data on your devices. Your events, people, milestones, and photos are stored locally and synced through your private iCloud account. We don't run servers that hold your data. We don't use third-party analytics. We don't track you, and we don't sell anything to anyone.

What the app stores

• Events, people, and milestones — the dates, names, and notes you add — stored on your device and in your iCloud (CloudKit).
• Profile photos — images you choose for a person or event, stored on your device and in your iCloud.

Photos and camera

With your permission, LifeTally accesses your photo library for two things: setting a profile photo, and Photo Memories, which shows you your own photos from past milestones. With your permission, the camera is used only to take a profile photo. Your photos are never uploaded to us — they stay on your device and in your iCloud. You can revoke these permissions any time in Settings → Privacy → Photos / Camera → LifeTally.

Contacts

With your permission, LifeTally can import friends' and family members' birthdays and anniversaries from your Contacts so you don't have to enter them by hand. That information stays on your device and in your iCloud and is never sent to us. You can revoke access in Settings → Privacy → Contacts → LifeTally.

Notifications

With your permission, LifeTally sends reminders for upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, and countdowns. Notifications are delivered through Apple's notification service; we don't use them for marketing.

Purchases

If LifeTally offers a paid upgrade, purchases are made through Apple and processed under your Apple ID. We use RevenueCat to verify entitlement status. We never see or store your payment information.

Analytics and tracking

LifeTally contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no ad networks, and no tracking pixels. There is no App Tracking Transparency prompt because we don't track you across apps or websites. We don't know who you are or how you use the app — and we like it that way.

Children's privacy

LifeTally is suitable for all ages. Because we don't collect personal information from anyone, no special handling is required for children.

Data requests and deletion

Because your data lives in your iCloud rather than on our servers, you delete it by removing it in the app or from your iCloud account directly (Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → LifeTally). We have no copy to hand over or delete on your behalf. For any other questions, email privacy@mawapa.app.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app.
