26 shooting challenges that find you mid-session

Shooting alone gets quiet. Tally Hoops challenges break in while you shoot: make your first three in a row, go ten for ten, stop a run of misses before it reaches three. They're free, and they're sized to how you usually shoot.

Opening Streak: make your first three in a row.

How challenges work

  1. Start a session on Apple Watch. Challenges are on by default.
  2. Shoot. When a challenge fits the moment, a card slides up over your face with the goal and your progress.
  3. Make it or miss it. The card counts each shot toward the goal and tells you when you've done it, or when it's gone.
  4. See the result later. Every challenge you attempt is saved with the session, and More › Challenges keeps your attempts and success rate.

9 of the challenges have a target that moves with you: they scale to your career accuracy for the shot type you're shooting, so “make 6 of your first 10” becomes a bigger ask for a 50% shooter than for a 30% one. One setting, Easy, Normal or Hard, nudges every target up or down. The rest are relative to the session itself: beat this session's best streak, get back within 5% of its best percentage.

Beat My Run: challenge a friend

Any finished session can become a challenge for someone else. Share it with Beat My Run and your friend gets a link; when they open it in Tally Hoops, they race your exact run, shot for shot. The whole run is written into the link itself, so nobody needs an account and nothing goes through a server.

Turning challenges off

In the iPhone app, More › Challenges has a switch for all of them and one for each, so you can keep the ones you like. Challenges only appear in watch sessions; Assist Mode on iPhone doesn't show them.

Questions

Are Tally Hoops challenges free?

Yes. All 26 challenges are free, and they're on by default.

How do challenges work?

During a session on Apple Watch, a challenge card pops up when it fits what's happening, like a fast start or a streak in progress. It shows your progress shot by shot, then tells you whether you made it. Results are saved with the session.

Can I make challenges easier or harder?

Yes. Targets already scale to your career accuracy for each shot type, and in More › Challenges you can set Easy, Normal or Hard for all of them, or switch individual challenges off.

Do challenges work in Assist Mode on iPhone?

No, challenges run in watch sessions. Assist Mode on iPhone logs your shots without them.

What is Beat My Run?

Beat My Run turns a finished session into a link. A friend who opens it races your exact run, shot for shot. The run travels inside the link, so there's no account and no server involved.
